Lyft is offering transportation credit to participants who sign up to join their Ditch Your Car program in more than 35 cities worldwide.
If selected, participants will give up their vehicles for 30 days from Oct. 9 to Nov. 6 and use alternate means of transportation including Lyft and public transportation. For Atlanta residents, Lyft is offering $300 in Lyft Shared credit, one month Zipcar membership, free activation, and $100 drive credit, and a one month MARTA pass.
“We are on the brink of a massive shift in personal transportation, moving away from ownership and into transportation as a service. Ditch Your Car is an extension of the mission we’ve been committed to for over a decade,” said Co-Founder and President, John Zimmer.
Lyft's Ditch Your Car program isn't the only way the company is changing the way we commute. Lyft recently rolled out a new program, Lyft Scooters. The scooters are currently only available in Denver and Santa Monica, but will be in more cities soon.
