Gavin Adcock paid tribute to legendary country star Alan Jackson when he covered a “top-tier song” on a recent episode of God’s Country.
The Georgia-born country singer joined brothers and podcast hosting duo Dan and Reid Isbell on God’s Country, where he delivered a heartfelt rendition of “Remember When.” Jackson released the instant-classic ballad in the early 2000s. The Isbell brothers shared a clip of Adcock’s performance on God’s Country’s Instagram, garnering dozens of comments applauding the tribute to Jackson. Watch it below.
“This week Reid and Dan host the music row's rowdiest artist, Gavin Adcock, out in God's Country. The episode dives in with all things cattle farming and Dan shares his first and last experience at attempting the trade. Gavin walks through what a day looked like for him growing up raising cattle and how that work ethic has parlayed into his current landscape of touring. The guys pick Gavin's brain on how he maintains releasing music consistently and what his tricks are for remaining viral on TikTok. Gavin shares what a pre-show ritual looks like for him, what it's like managing his rowdy fanbase, and ends the episode with a Gravorite that will bring a tear to a glass eye.”
Dan and Reid — who have written music for Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Scotty McCreery, Jon Pardi, Lainey Wilson and others — started their weekly podcast in early January 2024. Some of the first guests to appear on the show include HARDY, Dustin Lynch, Colbie Caillat and others.
“One of our favorite things about country music has always been how intertwined it is with the outdoors,” Dan and Reid Isbell said in a statement when God’s Country launched. They hope to “bring the outdoor enthusiast or country music lover an up close and personal look into the minds of some of the best songwriters and artists of the genre — a place where they can be honest about struggles, relationships, their connection to the outdoors, the music business, family, whatever they feel comfortable talking about. We can’t wait to see where this partnership will lead and who this podcast will reach.”
