My Hurricane Harvey Story.

Today has been an extremely emotional day because around this time last year. I was a victim of Hurricane Harvey in Houston, Texas. I was working as an extremely active Group Exercise Instructor for, 24 Hour Fitness, teaching 2-3 classes or more a day at several locations throughout the South Houston area. My home gym located off the Gulf Freeway (I-45) was shut down due to severe water damage from the flooding. The majority of my classes were out of that location so steady income was gone. I had to ask for assistance and was blessed with the Granite Towers Foundation (where the radio station I worked for was located) gave me September's rent, and then my amazing employer, 24 Hour Fitness, blessed me with October's rent until I was able to get back on my feet financially in November. I won't go into too many more details because I want to keep this blog upbeat and uplifting, but what I can say about my Hurricane Harvey experience is that I was never more proud to be working on-air in radio than I was at that very moment, and that absolute strangers will sometimes love and support you more than your own friends and family. Blessings still to all those that came to my rescue. My angels. I love you. Send loving thoughts to all those on the Coast going through Hurricane Florence.
