Someone just asked the internet: "Which 'wow' skill is secretly super easy to learn?" And here are some of the responses:
1. Origami.
2. Magic . . . especially card tricks.
3. Lock picking.
4. Learning the sky. Stars and constellations at night, and even being able to provide a basic weather forecast by looking at cloud types and formations.
5. Balloon animals. You can pick it up in a few hours, and be the LIFE of any family party with kids.
6. Basic clothes mending and altering. You don't even need a sewing machine for a lot of it.
7. Simple electronics repair. It's often just a wobbly solder joint.
8. Splitting an apple in half, with your bare hands. Here's the technique...
9. Microsoft Excel. In a few hours you can learn the basics of Pivot tables and XLOOKUP(), which normally lands you the title of "Office Excel Guru."
10. Knots.
11. Juggling three balls. Looks impressive, but you can learn it in a weekend.
12. Balancing things on your finger tip. The key is to look at the very top of the object. (That's just balancing. Spinning a basketball is different.)
13. An Owen Wilson impersonation.
14. You can learn four or five cords on the guitar, and play a ton of songs...
15. Moonwalking. It's just a rhythm of the feet, you can get it down in an hour.
16. Solving a Rubik's Cube.
17. Speed reading. It's training your eyes to stop saying every word in your head. Took me about a month to get decent at it.
18. Folding a fitted sheet...
19. Listening in a conversation.
20. Fire Eating. "Looks impressive and dangerous, but is surprisingly easy."
