MN Hockey Dad Charged With Murder After CSI Finds His DNA on Used Napkin!

This is a prime example of how much CSI and DNA crime investigation has changed in the past few years.

A hockey dad was charged in a 25-year-old murder after he discarded his used napkin at a hockey game.

Fifty-two-year-old Jerry Westrom is accused of killing Jeanne Ann Childs in Minneapolis in 1993. He faces second-degree murder in connection to the June 13, 1993 incident. (WCCO)

He was being tracked and followed and when the investigating team saw he threw away the napkin after eating a hot dog they tested it with suspect DNA.

Apparently the hockey dad's DNA was identical to DNA found at the crime scene which gave investigators probable cause to arrest him.

Police admit it took decades to make the arrest- but they never gave up.
