Watch: Tyler Hubbard, Nate Smith Join Forces On 'Rowdy,' 'Good-Time Anthem'

Tyler Hubbard and Nate Smith teamed up on their first-ever collaboration on Friday (November 14).

The two singer-songwriters kicked off the weekend with “After Midnight,” which Hubbard wrote with Casey Brown and Corey Crowder. Hubbard shared at a recent press event in Nashville that “After Midnight” is “a fun song I’m really excited about.” He said Smith has “become a good buddy of mine, and somebody that I really enjoy being around.” Smith was interested in recording the weekend-worthy anthem that Hubbard wrote with Brown and Crowder, and asked the Georgia-born country star to join him on the collaboration.

Hubbard called the team-up “an automatic ‘yes,’ …Every step of the way was a lot of fun,” he said at the press event. “I’ve had a blast.” He added in a statement in a press release issued on Friday, “I love Nate, and getting to work with him has made me love him even more. He’s as good as they come and this song is a good-time anthem that I can’t wait to live out and play live. I hope the world has as much fun jamming to this one as we did making it.”

“Having a song with Tyler Hubbard is bucket list for me since I have always been a huge fan of his voice, energy, and songwriting,” Smith said. “When I first heard ‘After Midnight,’ I was immediately hooked because it embodies everything I love in a song, and it’s just so freakin’ fun. I can’t wait for the world to hear it!”

The collaboration between Smith and Hubbard “packs a campfire-style sing-along into the framework of an arena-size anthem.,” the release states. The music video, directed by Jeff Johnson and Kaiser Cunningham, captures a group gathered “around a rowdy bonfire” with “good vibes all around.” Watch it here:
