Jelly Roll made his debut as a late-night talk show host when he filled in for Jimmy Kimmel on Wednesday night (July 16).
The reigning iHeartRadio Music Awards Country Artist of the Year served as Jimmy Kimmel’s guest host, poking fun at Post Malone, kicked off the inaugural “Jelly Awards,” chat with guests Jeremy Renner and Randy Orton (and slam Logan Paul through the desk after he interrupted the interview), and more.
“I am your guest host, Jelly Roll. Y’all tune in, baby,” the Beautifully Broken star said as he began his opening monologue. “Now, y’all know every guest gets on here and they say it’s great to be here, but I wanna talk to y’all. Speaking as a guy who has been to prison before, it really is great to be here. Actually, it’s kind of great to be anywhere. Hell, in walked into a DMV yesterday and I was like, ‘this is f***ing awesome.’ …I need y’all to be patient with me tonight. this is my first time doing something like this, and I’m going to try my best. I am. But if I really suck bad, y’all just remember my name is Post Malone.”
Jelly Roll is part of the star-studded lineup of the genre-spanning iHeartRadio Music Festival presented to Capital One, which is slated to return later this year to T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The two-day festival will also include performances by Bryan Adams, Ed Sheeran, Feid, GloRilla, John Fogerty, Justice, Lil Wayne, LL COOL J, Mariah Carey, Maroon 5, Sammy Hagar, Tate McRae, The Offspring, Tim McGraw and more to be announced.
