120-Year-Old Photo Proves Greta Thunberg Is A Time Traveler

Greta Thunberg is pretty incredible. Already at the young age of 16, she's traveled the world to educate people about climate change and the need to reduce our carbon footprint. She's spoken to crowds across the globe - even at the United Nations Action Summit - and is barely old enough to drive. But perhaps the reason she is so wise for her age is because she comes from a different era and is actually a time traveler. That's the conspiracy theory that has been sparked by a 120-year-old photo.

The picture, which comes from the University of Washington's Special Collections archive, was taken by Eric Hegg in 1898 and shows children sifting for gold in Canada's Yukon Territory. One of those kids looks shockingly like Greta.

Plenty of people on Twitter are convinced that it is Thunberg in the pic, and that Greta is from a not-too-distant future where climate change ruined the planet so she traveled back to save us all and prevent it from happening.

Of course, if that were the case, why did she go back to 1898? Some people have ideas:

As for anyone thinking the photo was faked, archivists at the University of Washington confirm the photo is real.

As yet, Greta hasn't commented on the photo. She's currently on a zero-emissions yacht on her way to Portugal by sea. She doesn't fly because of the pollution caused by planes.
