Eating mushrooms could lower the risk cognitive decline by 50%

They're magic! Eating mushrooms could lower the risk of cognitive decline by 50 percent, according to a study referenced in a Moneyish article.

Mild cognitive impairment includes problems with memory, language, thinking, and judgment. The risk of impairment increases with age, but mushrooms may be the answer to lowering your risk.

In a study, researchers found that those who ate one or two portions of mushrooms slashed their risk by 43 percent, those who consumed even more than that by 52 percent. You just need one or two portions, which is about two thirds of a cup of cooked mushrooms. Researchers are not sure what the ingredient is that is responsible to the effect, but they believe it is related to an amino acid called ergotheioneine (ET).

Adding mushrooms to your diet really is not that hard! You can make a veggie omelette for breakfast, add mushrooms to your salad at lunch, or saute some mushrooms to go along with your dinner.
