My transition from big city life in Houston, Texas to the country life in Perry, Georgia has been unexpected, but educational. This morning I woke up to a honking sound, but not a car horn honk, it was some sort of animal honking sound. My neighbor informed me that the honking sound came from her peacock that was honking at her for breakfast. Of course, I busted out into laughter, and then I got curious. How on earth did she end up with a peacock? How long do they live?
I learned some interesting facts and now I know that I'm neighbors with peacocks, ducks, chickens, and all the other lovely country animals that live in Perry.
