HBO Show Continues Filming In Downtown Macon

The television series “Brooklyn” will continue filming in downtown Macon on Thursday in the Historic Douglass Theatre on MLK Jr. Blvd.

The show is a drama revolving around a police force. The pilot was filmed partly in downtown Macon last May and June and the show is back for more filming.

During this filming, parking will be blocked off along one side of Cherry Street between Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Third Street, as well as along both sides of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard between Cherry and Poplar Streets. Mulberry Street Lane will also be closed to through traffic, but access to the Mulberry Street Parking Deck will remain open.

The parking will be closed beginning Wednesday around 10 p.m. and will re-open once filming is complete. Below is a map from WGXA of the closures and other impacted areas.
