I've Gained Weight Since Moving to Macon

I moved to Macon, GA July 19, 2018 from Houston, TX where I worked as an extremely busy Group Fitness Instructor for 24 Hour Fitness and as a full-time custodian. On average, I would teach 2-3 classes a day for the gym, spend at least 2 hours cleaning and do a CrossFit class in between for my own fitness. I worked 7 days a week for years, so moving to Macon was a huge lifestyle change. I still work 7 days a week, but none of it is physically demanding. As a result, I have gained body fat and lost a lot of my coveted muscle.

Without going into detail, my move to Macon was complicated and I fell into depression. I lost the extreme level of confidence and ambition I had in Texas in my first couple of months of living in Macon. My fitness career ended because there isn't enough demand in Macon for group fitness classes so I was not able to profit from staying certified. I lost the majority of my certifications except for BodyPump and POP Pilates.

It was inevitable that I would gain weight because I've never been a naturally fit girl. I'm a large boned frame with an extremely short torso which makes it almost impossible to stay looking lean. My body naturally stores fat in my arms, belly and hips. As a fitness professional, I know what I need to do to get back into a healthier category of body fat percentage which is the "fitness' range and not the "average" range.

My goals are 20% body fat. Whatever measurements or weight that leads to is fine. I'd love to get back to my 2018 Texas measurements, but I'm staying realistic. That's the most important part of any fitness journey. Staying realistic about your goals and re-adjusting as needed. I encourage you to join your own fitness journey.
