The Band Perry is stepping up to help a Kentucky family in the wake of a tragedy.
CNN says the country trio has offered to pay for the funerals for a mother and eight children -- all under the age of 16 -- who were killed in a house fire in Greenville, Kentucky last Thursday.
The only survivors include the children's father Chad Watson and an 11-year-old girl, who are both hospitalized at Nashville's Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Family friend Pam Burden says she doesn't know why The Band Perry has stepped up with such a generous offer, explaining that "the family doesn't have any personal connection to the band before now." But the group's publicist Brian Bumbery confirms that the country stars have extended their financial support to the family.
